When did EDEAL start and how?
Edeal has been providing valuable business support in East Sussex since 1987. The initial purpose of the Enterprise Agency was to provide advice and support to residents of Eastbourne and Wealden who were unable to find work locally or had been made redundant. This remit has grown and now Edeal manages ACES (The Alliance of Chambers in East Sussex) and offers business support across the county.
What does EDEAL offer?
Edeal is a not for profit Enterprise Agency offering practical business support and guidance to pre start, start-up and established businesses. We run start-up workshops in Eastbourne and Wealden as well as business clinics and 1-2-1’s. Edeal will help any local business at any stage of their development and where possible the service will be provided free of charge.

Edeal also owns and manages an ‘easy in’/’easy out’ office suite near the A27 in Polegate providing a professional business environment for start-up and growing businesses. The Edeal Business Centre has been designed to meet today’s needs and is equipped with high speed Broadband, good road links and plenty of parking. The Edeal Business Centre currently accommodates 8 businesses
Tell me about the workshops
Edeal are working with Eastbourne Borough Council and Wealden District Council to deliver start-up workshops to enable clients to take their business idea from the drawing board and make it a reality. The workshops are free and interactive, they offer the delegates advice on
- Writing a good business plan
- Sourcing finance
- Managing cash flow
- Meeting your legal obligations
- Taxation and VAT
- Marketing
The workshops start at 10am until 4pm and are delivered in Eastbourne and on a rotational basis in locations in Wealden. The dates booked so far are as follows:
8th September – Uckfield
7th October – Eastbourne
11th November – Hailsham
18th January – Crowborough
26th January – Eastbourne
22nd March – Heathfield
How is it funded?
The workshops are funded by Eastbourne Borough Council and Wealden District Council and clients living in these areas can access the workshops free of charge
Who is it aimed at?
The workshops are aimed at individuals looking at starting their own business however we will allow early start- up businesses to attend if we feel they would benefit from the workshop (up to 6 months old)
